Hero Banners

Hero Banners

Hero banners are used to quickly introduce and set the tone of the page it is included in. We have two hero banners one for the home page and other top level pages and an internal hero which is used on child pages.

Primary Hero

When adding a new Primary Hero you'll need the following:

  • Four images at 256x256px

  • A small bit of copy (under 140 chars)

When you add the primary hero to the structure view you'll see the "add hero banner" dialogue (similiar to the image). If you click the "choose file" buttons you'll be able to upload your image files or select them from the media folders. Additionally you can add your text to the "hero text" field. Hit "save" and you'll see the banner appear at the top of your page!

Interior Hero

The internal hero has a similiar dialogue to the Primary Hero banner with fewer options. Here, you have an optional text field and a space to upload an image.  The image for the interior hero is meant to look like an icon and is typically white on black (okay, slate, but still). This image is required and should be 256x256px. Text is optional whithin the Interior hero, however if you provide text you're limited to 140 chars. If you do not provide text the plugin will insert the page name.
