Neuron Morphology
Cells are the fundamental building blocks of the brain. They come in many different shapes and sizes, and how they connect to form circuits underlies brain function. A major goal of the Allen Institute for Brain Science is to generate a census of the cell types within the mammalian brain. Morphology, along with other individual and collective properties of cells, is a critical parameter for understanding the diversity of neuronal cell types in the brain.
